Head Down Arca’s Path VR – Review (PSVR)

Arca’s Path VR felt familiar in a comforting way, yet new all at the same time. Remember the game Labyrinth? No, it wasn’t a video game. Labyrinth was a little wooden box filled with a maze controlled by levers on both sides. You would drop a marble or ball bearing into the one end and have to tilt the maze in order to land the ball safely on the other side. The trick was this – the board was full of holes, quite literally. You had to keep the ball from falling into the holes in order to reach the finish line. Arca’s Path feels just like that – only now it’s been updated for the 21st Century.

Tetris Effect Willfully Snubbed For Game Awards Nomination

Talk to anyone who has played Tetris Effect and they’ll all tell you the same thing – “make sure you wear headphones when you play.” Why is this the first thing that comes to mind? Because the sound design is so euphorically mind blowing that experiencing the game any other way is basically a sin. So why was the game snubbed in every sound category nomination for The Game Awards? Your guess is as good as ours.

A Gummy’s Life Must Be Dull -Review (PC)

If I’ve learned anything from A Gummy’s Life, it would be how miserable their lives are and how compelled I am to eat them all in an attempt to save them from this life of mediocrity all Gummies apparently live. Vertical Drop Heroes HD – Review (Switch)

Roguelike games have been growing in popularity over the last few years. They bring a sense of nostalgia back for older gamers that grew up in an era where roguelike wasn’t just a genre, it was a way of life. However, for those still yearning for those days –  games like Vertical Drop Heroes HD can scratch the itch.

Sony’s Complacency Could Be Their Undoing

It’s hard to argue with anyone that tells you Sony has all but won this console generation from the get go. From the moment Microsoft introduced us to the Xbox One, Sony was already in the lead. With a focus on being the center of your living room rather than focusing on the games, Microsoft gave Sony the chance to take back the lead in the console wars… a lead that they hadn’t seen since the PlayStation 2. While Sony has taken that lead and ran with it over the course of this generation, they now find themselves in a place where, if they aren’t careful, they’ll begin to fall behind again the same way they did last generation to the Xbox 360.

Hacky Sack or HackyZack? – Review (Switch)

HackyZack is a puzzle platformer that is all about kicking various types of balls into a goal. Sounds simple, right? Well think again. Though the premise is simple the execution is not so much. We know very little about Zack and why he’s kicking these balls around and, to be honest, that’s okay. A game like this doesn’t need some grand story to explain why he is doing what he is doing you just need to dive in and experience it.
