Each year, we’re lucky to have just a handful of masterpiece games that you can’t miss. In 2017, the slew of titles that were “must plays” was staggering. Not only that, but Nintendo also defied all expectations and released an amazing new console. Often times throughout the year, I’d be driving to work thinking about the games I had played the night before, and was already desperate to get back home to dive in once again. Super Mario Odyssey – Review

Super Mario Odyssey is a homecoming. Many have argued about what Mario games are and aren’t sequels to Mario 64. It’s never been cut and dry, with Sunshine’s F.L.U.D.D or Galaxy’s linear level design changing up the formula drastically. It’s safe to say that Odyssey is the Super Mario 64 sequel we’ve all been waiting for.

Dustin’s E3 Pick – Super Mario Odyssey

After the sneak peak from the Switch reveal, followed up by the official announcement with the launch of the Switch, Super Mario Odyssey has been the game at the top of my list of anticipated titles. Though Nintendo has made some spectacular Mario games in the past decade or so, it’s been nearly fifteen years since the last open sandbox style game with Super Mario Sunshine.
