Are Video Games Ruining Pro Sports?

Video games have become a part of the global zeitgeist and, as a result, you could imagine my surprise when I heard that the Vancouver Canucks had banned video games from team road trips. The ban was primarily based around the ever so popular Fortnite. When asked about why video games are bad for the team, Vancouver Canucks forward and alternate captain, Bo Horvat said, “(‘Fortnite’s) definitely a no-go on the road.” He mentioned further that he thinks Fortnite is a “waste of your time” and added that teammates would be better served “hanging out with the guys.” A lot of other teams have players who are active Fortnite players (not surprising with numbers hitting 80 million in August).

Vertical Drop Heroes HD – Review (Switch)

Roguelike games have been growing in popularity over the last few years. Hacky Sack or HackyZack? – Review (Switch)

HackyZack is a puzzle platformer that is all about kicking various types of balls into a goal. Sounds simple, right? Well think again. Though the premise is simple the execution is not so much. Explore All the Colors of the Rainbow in Spectrum – Review (Switch)

Spectrum could easily be viewed as an N++ clone, but dismissing it as such would be a disservice to both games. While the first few levels play out similarly to those in N++, in no time at all Spectrum begins to separate itself and stand on its own two feet. With over eighty levels spread out over eight different environments, Spectrum will keep you busy for a long time. Completing the levels is not nearly enough and you’ll find yourself going back again and again to master them.

Graveyard Keeper Is Worthy To Keep From Getting Buried – Review (PC)

Look both ways when you cross the street; otherwise, Graveyard Keeper could provide an explanation for the age old question of, “What is beyond this life?” According to the developers from Lazy Bear Games, the afterlife is full of bouncing cognizant skulls, autopsies, burials, cannibalism, local politics, and apparently the expectation to either become a preacher or join a cult. Sounds pretty run of the mill, right? Sure, this game can easily be analogized to Stardew Valley and other similar games, but there are a myriad of other reasons as to why this is only a shallow description of Graveyard Keeper.
