eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 – Preview

Pro Evolution Soccer has been a yearly installment for nearly two decades. Dating back to the PS2, soccer fans have flocked to the series to live out their soccer fantasies. While this year’s iteration brings the same great depth and gameplay the series is known for there is a much bigger emphasis this year to make the game even more familiar to a wider audience with a rebranding and focus on esports.

With this new focus on online multiplayer and eSports, the highlights with this year’s release include PESLeague and eFootball Pro tournaments. Another new mode this year called Match Day Mode will let players play through an important match from that current week. Players will choose which team they want to play as and then take part in the match.

Gameplay feels similar to anyone that’s familiar with the franchise. Soccer matches can go long periods of time without any goals being scored, sometimes an entire match. It’s a testament to the game how much fun you can have even when the game ends 0-0 (as it did during the final match that we played).

The game looks gorgeous. Each stadium is a lifelike representation of their real life counterparts and the character models look great as well.

This year eFootball PES 2020 will have two editions releasing on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Standard and Legend editions will drop on September 10th in most of the world and September 12th in Asia.
