Nintendo Introduces Labo and Changes Everything…Again

Forget toys to life. Nintendo just took it to the next level with games to life. Their new product, dubbed Labo, is a new cardboard DIY peripheral that kids can build and use to interact with their games.

You read that correctly, Nintendo has figured out a way to charge you for cardboard and all indications point to it being a success.

Want to build a fishing pole and fish from the comfort of your own home? You can do that. How about build a piano and play a tune? Yup, you can do that too. Build a steering wheel and race? Well, you get the point. Almost anything is possible now with Labo.

The Wii U may have gone out as a lamb, but Nintendo has returned with the Switch like a lion. Releasing April 20th for $69.99, you’ll receive a cartridge of interactive games and a variety of cardboard objects to build. You’ll even get stickers to personalize your creations.

Right after the reveal a friend sent me a message saying “he was born twenty years too early.” I couldn’t agree more, what a time to be a kid.

Nintendo is back in a big way and we are all better off because of it.
