3 Out Of 10 Season 2 – Review (PC)

Terrible Posture Games is bridging the gap between video games and sitcoms with season two of their hit playable sitcom, 3 Out Of 10.

Season 1 left us with a major cliffhanger, and we couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. There are some strange things a foot at the studio and at every turn mystery and comedy will collide head on. Season 2 feels a lot more accessible to gamers this time around and we are here for that. One of the only gripes we had about the first game was that it felt a little too niche and would appeal to other game developers, but a lot of the humor may have gone over the head of the casual gamer. Season 2 is all about the gamer. It’s amazing how much more relatable it is than some of the things from season 1. They even go on a hunt for the actual gamer card in one episode which was an absolute hoot!

This season is all about tweaking their game in order to get a better score than they’ve ever had before. They are really thinking outside of the box on this one so expect crazy levels and weapons this time around as you playtest their game. The studio feels like they are close, but someone seems to be sabotaging them along the way. In season 2 you’ll visit a AAA studio, set up a green room for motion capture, and even take a break from the dreaded crunch in order to maximize production triple time after the fun is over.

The most exciting thing about season 2 is the cliffhanger, yes once again, at the end that means we are going to get a season 3.

The gameplay felt tighter this time around as well. Mini games felt a little more thought out and the time in the office between the mini games followed a familiar structure from episode to episode which helped to make the game easier to follow than the first season. It never felt repetitious, it just felt familiar and kept you from wasting any time wandering around aimlessly. That’s not to say you shouldn’t explore the office as there are secrets stashed everywhere and each one gets you a star. Collecting stars is what gets you on the leaderboard and as long as you have one star, you’ll be higher on the boards than the game’s director, Joe Mirabello, who tragically has zero stars in each episode. It’s that kind of humor that really gives the game legs and keeps you coming back for more.

Season 2 hits all the right notes. Each episode will take about 30 minutes or so, much like a standard episode of television, which makes it easy to play the game in bite size pieces or complete the game in one sitting. It will be hard for anyone who hasn’t played season 1 to jump in and understand what is happening, but it’s an entertaining ride start to finish. If you haven’t played season 1 yet, we recommend playing it immediately and then taking a dive head first into season 2.
